Dayjavu is a video diary app built on a single rule: one day, one video. It reads the footage already in your photo library, lays it out as a calendar, and turns whatever you choose into a continuous film of the period.

How it works
Choose a date range and Dayjavu scans your library for every day inside it that contains video, filtering by orientation if you want a consistently portrait or landscape result. It reports how many days it found and fills in a calendar, one tile per day.
You then move through the days, choosing which clip represents each one and where its excerpt begins. Set a length between one and five seconds, name the compilation, and export.

What makes it different
Most video diary apps are capture tools: they ask you to film something today, and the archive only starts from the day you installed them. Dayjavu is an assembly tool. It assumes the footage already exists, which, for anyone who has owned a phone for a few years, it does.
That changes what the app is for. Instead of committing to a habit, you are recovering years that are already sitting on the device.

Private, and free to start
There is no account and no upload. Processing runs on the iPhone and the finished video saves to your own photo library. The one-time purchase lets you build as many separate compilations as you like from the same source footage; the free version covers one.

Do I need to film every day to use it?
No. Dayjavu works entirely from videos already in your library, and skips days that have none.

As many as you want once purchased; the free version covers one. They are independent, so the same footage can appear in several.
Can I keep more than one diary?

What happens to days with several videos?
You choose which one represents the day, and where its clip begins.
Is the free version time-limited?
No. It does not expire and there is no trial countdown. The limits are on what you export, not on time.
Does the free version show ads?
No. There is no advertising in Dayjavu at any tier.
Is there a trial?
The free version is the trial. It runs the whole workflow end to end: fill and play every day in one compilation, with clips of one or two seconds, and export the newest 12 days.
Does the purchase carry across devices?
Yes. It is tied to your Apple Account, so restoring purchases on a new iPhone brings it with you.
Will there be a subscription later?
The purchase you make is a one-time unlock and stays valid. Any future pricing changes cannot retroactively convert it into a subscription.
Does 4K cost extra?
It is part of the one-time purchase, not a separate charge. The free version exports at 1080p.
What if my source videos are not 4K?
They are used at whatever resolution they were shot. Exporting at 4K preserves the clips that are, and does not degrade the ones that are not.
